3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Understanding Beneficiaries’ Rights and Executors’ Duties in Estate Administration

About this talk

When someone passes away, beneficiaries naturally want to know: What am I entitled to, and when will I receive it? However, an estate cannot always be distributed immediately. Executors and administrators have legal duties to collect and preserve estate assets, settle liabilities, maintain proper accounts and administer the estate before distributing the assets to those entitled.

So, where does an executor’s discretion end and a beneficiary’s rights begin? What should an executor do to administer an estate properly? What can a beneficiary do if an estate’s administration is delayed or not properly carried out?

Join us as we explore beneficiaries’ rights and executors’ and administrators’ duties in estate administration, including the legal boundaries between them and the options available to beneficiaries when issues arise.

The talk will be delivered over video conference using Zoom.us. You can either view the talk from your web browser or download the Zoom app.
